Position Summary:
Seeking an experienced Machinist/Machine Operator III to work in a machine shop environment supporting aerospace manufacturing. This position will primarily set up and operate CNC lathes, with additional responsibility for CNC mills and other manual equipment. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, safety-conscious, and experienced in producing precision parts to engineering specifications.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate CNC lathes, primarily, with backup operation of CNC mills and manual equipment.
• Set up and run multiple machines and operations to produce precision parts within print tolerances.
• Make offset adjustments as needed to maintain engineering specifications.
• Complete Certified Operator training and testing.
• Maintain measuring instruments and machining equipment in proper condition.
• Maintain proper cutting conditions on machining centers.
• Meet or exceed required production/output hours.
• Use fixtures, gauges, and precision measuring equipment to perform dimensional checks.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to coordinate work activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned and work overtime as needed.

Required Skills:
• Experience operating single-turret or twin-spindle CNC lathes with live tooling.
• Ability to set up, troubleshoot, and operate CNC lathes and mills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of basic work instructions and manufacturing processes.
• Experience using hand and power tools, rotary tooling, sanding devices, manual deburring tools, and wrenches.
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, electronic height gauges, and fixed gauges.
• Intermediate shop math skills.
• Basic computer skills for data entry, timekeeping, and production reporting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience Required:
• 3+ years of experience setting up, troubleshooting, and operating CNC lathes and mills.

Key Candidate Requirement:
The strongest candidates will have hands-on CNC setup experience, particularly with CNC lathes and live tooling, along with the ability to read blueprints and perform precision measurements.
